Joanna Parypinski is a 23-year-old horror writer from Chicago, where she developed her lifelong fascination with all things macabre.
She received her BA in English Writing and Spanish from Butler University in 2011, graduating Summa Cum Laude and completing the honors program. She also won 4 first place prizes in Butler’s annual creative writing contest and worked as a staff member on Manuscripts, the undergrad literary magazine, for 4 years.
A lover of music, Joanna has played the cello since the age of 9 in various ensembles, including the Butler Symphony Orchestra. She currently enjoys tutoring beginning and intermediate students in private cello lessons. Her other musical interests lie in hard rock and heavy metal, which she played on the guitar for a few years.
Shortly after graduating college, Joanna began publishing short stories in horror anthologies. When she isn’t writing, blogging, or listening to music, she can be found working at Barnes and Noble. On September 1, 2012 Joanna’s first novel, PANDORA, will be published by Damnation Books.
